The Johnstone’s Young Painter of the Year Awards is an opportuntiy to showcase young talent, reward best practice and encourage young people to enter the professional painting and decorating industry.
The competition is open to students working as apprentises in local employment and undertaking an NVQ level 2 painting course or equivalent.
The initiative is run in conjunction with the Association of Painting Craft Teachers. Regional heats are held at colleges across the UK, where a winner from each heat is chosen to take part in the national final.
The 2008 Regional heats are currently underway and the finalists from each Regional heat will be published shortly.
The final will be held at the National Painting and Decorating Show, taking place on the 11th and 12th November at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. We look forward to meeting everyone at the National Final and annoucing the Johnstone's 2008 National winner.
